San Diego Youth for Clean Oceans
We are high school students dedicated to cleaning the San Diego coast of wastewater pollution. The South Bay International Wastewater Treatment Plant (SBIWTP) is vital for our community, treating sewage before it enters the Pacific Ocean. However, it’s job is done inadequately. Although $400 million in federal funding for expansion is a positive step, the timeline for repairs is too long. San Diego residents deserve immediate action against wastewater pollution affecting our communities. Together, we can promote a sustainable future for San Diego's coastline.
